Katya van den Berg is an East Tennessee native who grew up dancing and performing all over the state of Tennessee! Her love of dance began at Dancers' Studio in Knoxville and later the Tennessee Children's Dance Ensemble. She continued dancing and grew her leadership and choreography skills in Boss Dance Company at The University of Tennessee Knoxville - where she served as the President during the 2017-2018 season. When not dancing with the Appalachian Equality Choir, Katya is the Director of Kid's Place at Sequoyah, a non-profit after school program in the heart of Sequoyah Hills. Katya has performed and choreographed with Appalachian Equality Choir since 2017 and is incredibly honored to work with the wonderful people each season!
